This one is a little harder to format for the forum.

Article I: Name
  • 1.1 Anime Club
  • 1.1.1 The Anime Club can be referenced to as the club throughout

Article II: Mission Statement
  • 2.1 We, the Anime Club of Lakewood high School, do declare that we will abide by the following mission statement:
  • 2.2 To spread knowledge of and interest in the genre of Japanese animation to the student body of Lakewood High School by uniting its students with a common interest in the genre. We will help accomplish this feat by immersing and enriching the student body in this field.


Article III: Membership
  • 3.1 The club is open to anyone and everyone.
  • 3.2 Only prior Anime club members will be elected as officers.
  • 3.3 Everyone holds voting privileges.
    • 3.3.1 You must have attended three consecutive meetings to be eligible to vote.

  • 3.4 All the rules must be followed by anyone at all times, or one’s membership could be compromised.
    • 3.4.1 Refer to Article VIII.


Article IV: Executive Committee
  • 4.1 Officers will consist of the following:
    • 4.1.1 President
    • 4.1.2 Vice President(s)
    • 4.1.3 Secretary
    • 4.1.4 Treasurer

  • 4.2 If no officers can attend, then the elected trustee will take over.
    • 4.2.1 The trustee is not an officer. The trustee is there in case any of the EC cannot attend.
    • 4.2.2 A trustee is also there in case of an officer has an extended absence. In that case, he will take over until the officer can come back, or is taken off their post – a new election would then have to take place.

  • 4.3 The EC can meet as frequently as it needs to and members can attend, but their opinions will not be open for discussion (by non-EC members), until the next meeting.
  • 4.4 After the president, there is no real hierarchy in each group.
    • 4.4.1 The next in line would be the Vice President(s), or the appointed Vice President.
    • 4.4.2 After that, the hierarchy stands true.

  • 4.5 After a decision is made by the EC, the decision will be discussed with the club members.
  • 4.6 Officers will be responsible to ensure that what activities do go on do not infringe with the school’s policies.


Article V: Fees
  • 5.1 There will be an initial fee due at the beginning of each semester of $10 to join.
    • 5.1.1 If a fee is deemed as not necessary, as found by the beginning of the year, then none will be taken.

  • 5.2 A member will have three weeks to gain the money needed to join.
  • 5.3 The fees can be paid altogether for a sum of $20 in the beginning, if the member wants.
  • 5.4 Finances should be checked at the end of each meeting, and will be examined at the end of each month.


Article VI: Meetings
  • 6.1 The regular Meeting schedule is on Fridays: 1:35 – 2:30 pm
  • 6.2 Meeting Schedules may be thought up at the beginning of each school year.
  • 6.3 Depending on school times and changes in curriculum, regular meeting times may change.


Article VII: Elections & Voting
  • 7.1 Elections will be held once a year near the end to decide the new officers.
  • 7.2 Voting is decided by majority, in all cases, where everyone’s vote is equal.
    • 7.2.1 Officer votes are not weighted more than any other member’s.

  • 7.3 People must be nominated and then a meeting date will be picked to decide the new members.
    • 7.3.1 You are not allowed to nominate yourself for a position.

  • 7.4 Votes will be done by a secret ballot, where the sponsor will designate who will count the votes.
    • 7.4.1 The designated person will be someone with no affiliation to the club, unless the sponsor counts them.

  • 7.5 There will be a one week period, prior to the election, to campaign.
  • 7.6 Each candidate must give a speech on the day of elections.
  • 7.7 Candidates must be present on the day of election, or they will forfeit their candidacy.


Article VIII: Member Removal
  • 8.1 This is here in case of a member who fails to adhere to the rules stated, or proceeds to cause a problem.
  • 8.2 All rules should be followed at all times.
    • 8.2.1 There are no rules that conflict with people’s personal issues, so there will be no complaints.

  • 8.3 Any act committed that affects the interests of the club and its members will result in removal.
  • 8.4 The member will have the right to defend their actions.
  • 8.5 The member will lose any privileges that they had when affiliated with the club.
  • 8.6 Any officer can be removed if they fall within these categories.
  • 8.7 The removal process can be changed depending on how severe the problem is, or how many times in one meeting the member decides to break a rule.
  • 8.8 The removal process is as stated:
    • 8.8.1 Three warnings. The third warranting a suspension.
    • 8.8.2 A suspension of three meetings, consecutively. It follows the same timeline of rule 8.9.1.
    • 8.8.3 Removal by majority vote.
    • 8.8.4 Removal without voting.

  • 8.9 Once fully removed, the member cannot attend for a total of one semester (18 weeks, consecutively).
    • 8.9.1 This can be carried into the next school year, and is counted by when a club meeting is held.

  • 8.10 Every semester, the warnings will be removed and started over, unless a member is still on leave or suspended. Their warnings will be wiped clean once they return from that time period.


Article IX: Refunds
  • 9.1 First and foremost, refunds can only be applied for if there was a misunderstanding of the fees or if there was a lack of communication with an officer. Otherwise, refunds are null and void.
  • 9.2 Any member may apply for a refund within one month of paying.
    • 9.2.1 They have four days, because of the times of meetings, to ask.

  • 9.3 Any member may apply for a refund within one week of an event.
    • 9.3.1 They have one day, because of the times of meetings, to ask.

  • 9.4 Refunding means that a member may not understand the fee portion of the constitution and will not be allowed to stay a member if they are past the fee due date.
  • 9.5 If a member is removed from the club or quits, they will not be offered a refund if they do not fit into the other, former criteria in Article IX.


Article X: Amendments
  • 10.1 Any member may propose an amendment.
  • 10.2 In order to amend the proposed issue, there will be a voting session.
    • 10.2.1 Refer back to Article VII on voting procedures.

  • 10.3 No amendment will take place unless it is approved by the officers, the school, and the sponsor.
