I don't think I've made one of these... anyways:

Yeah, voice actors. English, Japanese, Spanish, German, whatever. Some people call 'em Seiyuu, but I find doing that redundant.

Note, because I can't understand Japanese, most Japanese voice actors sound more or less the same to me. Thus I can't favor any of them. Same goes to all other foreign languages.

And to make this thread more than just listing off your favorite VAs, also state a short (or long if you wish) reason why you do.

Moving on to my favorites (They're all in order too):

Johnny Young Bosch - I'll admit that he doesn't have a vast range, most everyone he voices sounds like Vash. But I like him because I just plain love his voice. Him voicing Lelouch just makes Lelouch seem more fabulous. It's the only reason I watch Code Geass. I also love his Adachi voice.

Steven Blum - More or less the same reason as Johnny Bosch. Imo, Blum has more range than Bosch, but his voice is usually easily distinguishable (Spike Speigel). And imo, his voice is just plain awesome. Especially his Leeron voice.

Laura Bailey - Extremely wide range of voices, and the first VA to give me an autograph. She can be a cute schoolgirl (Toru Honda), an obnoxious pre-school boy (Shin-chan), and a sexy seductress (Lust), just to name a few. She even voices roles in series I've watched but never realized that she voiced in them (Code Geass). Other than that, I find her voice to be cute. (Although one of my friends finds her voice to be irritating. D: )

Caitlin Glass - A new addition to my favorite voice actors. Most famous for voicing Winry Rockbell. But I prefer her as voicing Miria from Baccano. And I find that even in her casual voice, her voice is... well, cute. That and she's also a good singer.

Yuri Lowenthal - Most known to voice Sasuke from Naruto or Ben Tenyson(sp?) from Ben 10: AF. He also has the habit of voicing roles of stuck-up jerks and angsty teenagers (Sasuke, Luke fon Fabre, Haseo, etc.). Like Bosch, Yuri's the only reason I watch the garbage that is Alien Force (Original was better. And I'm not saying Code Geass is garbage). Lowenthal's a strange case for me. Sometimes I love his voice, and sometimes it gets on my nerves.

And last but not least: LittleKuriboh - The esteemed creator of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series and spawned a bunch of other rip-offs in his wake. He certainly does well as a voice actor to voice 99% of the entire cast of Yu-Gi-Oh. That and he's hilarious.

Aya Hirano's voice is unmistakable... well her VAs are anyway.

Well yeah, I guess Aya's the only Japanese voice I can distinguish, back when I was obsessed with Haruhi. I actually picked her out when I was watching Manabi Straight.

Oh~ I love Manabi Straight, I should go add it to my list.

Ah, another I could pick out is Minoru Shiraishi. Hes on the Lucky Channel in Lucky Star, and then when I was watching Mel. of Haruhi, I heard his voice as a side character baseball player. I immediately went to ANN to find who was the VA, and yeah it was him.

Hes a funny guy, I love his Character CDs.

Johnny Young Bosch has a good voice range. Like, you can tell it's him, bu when he does a character, you think of the character as.. the character, not the voice actor. I think that's a good skill.

I also like Greg Ayres, not just because when I first met him face to face we had the same phone, but because he sounds so little, when he's not. Also, he did Chrono really well, I think.

I like Steven Blum too, he was in almost everything I watched for a while :O and he sounds nice Very Happy

I like.. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, because I love her voice as Motoko Kusanagi.

And Liam O'Brien! Most people know him as Garra from Naruto, but I thought he did a wonderful job as Vincent Law from Ergo Proxy.

And because.. I watched the beginning of Hell Girl in Japanese, and the end in English, I liked Takako Honda (Hone Onna), she has a nice deep voice, which was different.

If a VA is easy to pick out, I say that's not a very wide range. But I really like Bosch's voice, so I let it slide.

And about Ergo Proxy, I picked out the VA for Iggy to be Roy Mustang's too. I forget what his name is.

And Yuri Lowenthal, he was easy to pick out too.

Voices are voices, you don't have to be a master artist of changing it to do different things with it. Good voice actors are just actors. If they can act, they can make it sound reasonable enough and beliveable.

Lots of actors are easy to pick out and lots of voice actors are easy to pick out. Ranges, to me, are what they can do with their voices- realistic anger, saddness, etc. If I can't believe that you're the character, or you can only do a certain type of character, then I think you have a small range.

But that's my opinion.

Well, I didn't say a small voice range means bad acting. I usually like watching series where my favorite VAs' voices are familiar. But imo, there's always room for some variety.

Greg Ayres did that in Chrono Crusade, and he takes voice acting lessons to get better and all, but.. he doesn't like doing deep voices too much, because it's really outside his vocal range and I think it was uncomfortable, even though it sounded really good when he did it. Demon Chrono sounded hot. *nods* I know you all would agree with me, too.

Though, my problem with like.. Japanese anime is that sometimes I'm not sure if their reaction is correct, because, well, it's in a different language and all. However, after I listen to it for a while, it gets easier to see if they did their angry voice pretty well or not. It seems easier when it's live than when it's draw to tell if they're acting well or not when it's in a different languag. At least for me.

Eh, I watched Chrono Crusade a long time ago, can't really remember much.
I mostly remember Greg Ayers voicing in Negima.

Dave Wittenburg. He has a decent voice range and has done work from anime such as Naruto and Afro Samurai to video games like Valkyria Chronicles. But overall I usually love his works.

Same with Steve Blum >.> Would kill to meet him.

I'd rather commit murder for an actual Kururu Sumeragi figurine than just a meeting with my favorite VA, but that's just me.

Johnny Bosch! I loved his voice in Trigun the best. He's probably one of my favorite voice actors. All the characters he voices as are so realistic and with emotion.

Scott Mcneil. I actually got to me him and spent most of one night at Metro hanging out with him. Most epic time of my life. EVER!

Also got to meet the voice of Ryuk and Light (whose names elude me at the moment) Did not know they all worked on Gundam Wing together. Their panel was pretty awesome.
