October 17, 2008

We'll be in the library this week, and we'll be collecting dues.

Some ideas that were brought up last week involved:

Grouping everyone: Slackers and Workers
More Kowai Kafe talk

Anything else?

The idea I had about slackers and workers was, if you're a slacker, you only ome to play, basically. I like the idea of having them still pay their dues, or, they don't and they don't get to fall under the umbrella that everyone else who has does. They will not be eligible for parties without paying,t hey will not be able to attend any of the events without paying, and if something special comes up, they will not be allowed to join in. Slackers will not be considered real members of the club, they're mostly fill up space. This also means that slackers won't be able to become Officers, nor will they be able to vote on things.

Workers are people who join in on the discussions and get everything. They are real members.

I was thinking of printing off all the rules and constitution, once I get the new one posted up, so everyone can read and understand. Honestly, all you have to do is understand the rules. There are not that many general rules to follow, yet people still have problems following them.

I was thinking of havnig a more rigid placement for the current officers, which means, to me, that we'll have what they do/what they're supposed to do written down. We have.. I think 4 vice presidents, it used to be 5? I'm not exactly sure what all of them are doing or what they're supposed to do, but I was thinking of giving them better titles, depending on what they're doing.. supposed to do, or, perhaps, even, taking some off because we have more spaces than we actually need.

I had more, but I can't remember them right now. If you all have something you'd like to add, then please do.

Also, I'll begin the whole manga idea, because we need something to help ormote the club, whether most of the memebrs want to join in on it or not. Our club has NO promotional status right now. We have no commercial, we have no posters up, we have no place on any of the two school sites -- we only really have the daily, catcom announcements, which isn't really promoting our club that much. I would really like it if something that actually put the anime club out there was started.

We also need a few more people to help out witht he Kowai Kafe on the 31st, we have about 4 people, we need 5, but we'd like a little more than that since three of the 5 will be helping with the haunted house each day.

Does the forum count as contributing to discussion? I don't like talking at school, so I don't contribute much or at all, verbally, unless I'm required to. It's not that I'm too shy (just a bit), it's just that I've somehow subconsciously hardwired into my brain that talking is a waste of effort >___>.

Maybe we should put up a manga drawing gallery too or something, like a drawing of the week, I don't know.

I know it's more of an Art club thing, but since the Anime club is basically promoting an artistic subculture/genre/etc., whatever you wish to call it, I think it's a nice idea.

The manga idea is good, but there's no agreed upon plot or anything (is there?). Or we could do a four-panel thing like Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh.

I'd be willing to draw some stuff for a manga, but I'm not very good at dynamic posing (Person always look in specific directions, body poses are limited, etc.). I'm really only well with faces.

Anything is better than nothing. We could have a panel of faces, going from good to bad, and then show the last panel of what happened <.< That could be a short skit to do and seems easy enough.

Forum is nice as discussion, too, since some people can only discuss on the forum Razz though it'd be nice if you guys did say something, or write something down and then >.> we just say it for you?

Haha, the faces idea sounds neat, I could do that.

And I don't plain enjoy talking either. Besides, my ideas are better portrayed with text, as I usually detail it until it turns into paragraphs and sometimes an essay.

And I don't plan on writing a few paragraphs of ideas and them pass them over to you to read aloud. That's why I like the forum. ;D

You so lazy. Learn to speak with your mind, literally!

So about the slackers and workers idea, how does that sound, so far?

But I get tired when I talk too long. D;
And people understand words better when they are read, when legible, instead of being heard.

And as for the worker/slacker thing, I'll say what my dad says (which I paraphrased into this quote): "If you didn't cook the meal, don't expect to eat it." (Unless you paid for it of course, this is more of an at-home proverb)

And also why I cook for myself mostly, even though it's mostly pre-prepared food. >__>

You don't have to talk too long Razz

And I'll take that as to meaning.. that you agree!

From the way things are going and from how people area also blantantly disrespecting the rules all the time, I'm thinking of having a small mini test on the rules. That way, when they're broken, people can't say they didn't know what they were and that they were ignorant of them.

I'd fail, I didn't read any of the rules, not even here on this site. >____>
Because I don't think sitting on my butt and not talking would break any rules.

They're basic school rules, to be honest. Things that everyone of them should understand and be able to follow since they're in classes.

The constitution is the longest thing, and that's juts how things are supposed to be enforced.

$10, apparently $20 in all, but.. I'm not so sure how great that one is. I personally liked the idea of $10 in all, or $5 per semester. It seemed easier to do, in all.

I kind of want to bring that up, too.

Walter?

And we've been talking about dues for a while. I thought $5 was easier to make than $20. I also thought that $10 was easier to make, as a whole, than $20. But that's just me.

I could get $10 to you on the 16th, but I don't think I can attend the meeting after school again, I need to attend an emergency Multicultural Leadership meeting (Everything is pretty chaotic over there).

Gah, I a am skimping on my secretary duties...soz. Hard to find condense people's ideas onto paper.

I know at least 3 years and they usually use the money for manga in the library or to buy food for events.

So they actually have money in their club funds, while we don't. We don't have club fund money to buy food or books. We have nothing because our club just started.

We also have lazy members who don't do anything. Most of those members probably won't stay long because we won't do everything they want to do and because they might not even want to pay the dues.

Yes, $5 is nice, but I do agree with $5 a semester, or $10 in all, at least for now. Our club hasn't done anything, and most people don't even know what we do. It's not fair to compare us to other school clubs who've been around longer, have made a name in their school, have fund money, and probably aren't doing exactly what we are. We can't even say they have the same people in it.

We can use some ideas and make them our own, but we can't just say that because they do it, we should be able to, as well. We're two completely different clubs who just have the same umbrella topic idea.

While I don't agree with having dues too high, I don't agree with having them too low, but it's not for me to choose, since the memebrs picked the price amount.

You don't have to apologize, it's just not fair to place this club on the same pedestal as another.

And, we can't have dues paid tomorrow, no school XP

But next week, yes, that'd be cool. I'm not paying mine this week, either. I think I'll be giving mine in at a later date. We wanted dues now or sooner because the Kowai Kafe will be starting soon and we need items to buy.
